Other Information
Weather & Outfit. The Dieng Plateau operates on UTC+7 time year-round. Unlike most of Indonesia, Dieng features a subtropical highland climate that is significantly cooler, with temperatures typically ranging from 10°C to 18°C (50°F to 64°F) during the day, and dropping as low as 0°C to 5°C (32°F to 41°F) during the early morning or "frozen dew" season.
To stay comfortable, we recommend a layered outfit strategy. Start with a comfortable base, add a warm sweater or fleece, and bring a windproof jacket or down coat, especially for the sunrise trek. Don't forget to pack warm socks, gloves, and a beanie to protect against the biting morning chill. While casual wear is suitable for most sites, we recommend wearing sturdy walking shoes or sneakers with good grip for exploring the slippery terrain around the craters and temple complexes. Out of respect for the local highland culture, we suggest keeping your outfits modest and practical for outdoor adventure.
