The average temperature in the lowlands like Medan and Tangkahan stays around 27 °C to 32 °C. However, as you ascend to the highlands of Berastagi or the shores of Lake Toba, temperatures can drop significantly, ranging from 15 °C to 23 °C, especially at night. What to bring: Since you will be exploring the "Great Rainforest," a light waterproof jacket or poncho is essential for unpredictable mountain mists. Comfortable trekking shoes, insect repellent (for forest stays), sunglasses, and sunblock are highly recommended. For the cooler highland nights, don't forget to pack a warm sweater or fleece to keep you cozy.
